Lactivist reader Bethany just sent me over a link to this fantastic Australian breasfeeding awareness video.

This is exactly the type of thing we need to see happen here in the states. This commercial is a million times more poignant and likely to have an impact than the lame "not breastfeeding is like log rolling while pregnant" commercials the U.S. government sponsored.

That's great! Yep, need to see that in North America for sure!
    Go Australia!

That is an awesome commercial! I think or every formula commerical that is aired a pro-breastfeeding commercial aired as well. Maybe more people wouldn't think its "gross" or "only for poor people" and etc. I cannot believe how ignorant people are.

    Anyway, kudos to the Aussies!!

    Love it!

love this video. I'm surprised you didn't get more comments!

LOL, it's only been up for about three hours or so...give it time. :)

I've seen this before, and I love it, except for one thing... I wish the last line said "breastfeeding in public is a BABY'S right."

Even better - "EATING in public is a baby's right."

    Hello from down under...

    : )

Great work, isn't it? Actually, we are in the middle of a public inquiry into breastfeeding (hooray and at long last):

...sigh...sad to say, I (personally) haven't actually seen the ad AIRED here. Maybe the outcome of the inquiry will help fund some more air time!

P.S Jennifer, I LOVE your blog

I love this ad! I love that it is a "business man" eating in a stall. I love everything about it, and gosh darn it I want it here in the US!

Did I mention I love this ad!

I thought it was the perfect ad when I saw it. I completely agree that it would be so much more effective than those ads in America that targeted women who did not breastfeed. An ad like this will actually make people think (at least we would hope so) rather than making people defensive.

Awesome! Australian Breastfeeding Association is doing a great job in general and I'm not surprised (but pleased!) that something like this comes from them. (Says I who am a frequent visitor to their website.)

simple and clear, I'd like to see that aired here as well.

Great clip! They should air that here in the US. I can't remember why now but I know that I have had to breastfeed in a bathroom or two.

The first problem with those horrid log rolling commercials is that they were gov't produced. Never leave to the US gov't what the private sector could do.

Seems like Australia's gov't missed that memo...

    Love the commercial.
