January Extension of Fundraiser

I posted earlier this week that due to a problem with CafePress I was going to extend the Mother's Milk Bank of Ohio fundraiser a bit longer. I've actually decided to continue it through the entire month of January.

Why? Because this afternoon I spoke with a reporter from the Washington Post. She's working on a story on about milk banking, casual milk sharing and wet nursing. Hopefully, the story will run in the next week or so and we'll see an influx of traffic here. An influx of traffic could mean an influx in sales which will hopefully lead to a nice big check for the milk bank. :)

Cross your fingers. We've raised a little over $400 so far. I was really hoping to get closer to $1000.

Oh yes, and don't forget that you can always simply send a direct donation. I've got a PayPal account setup to funnel donations through. I'll simply add any donations that come in to the money earned from the site.

So here's my last plea. Do you get a chuckle from the Lactivist? Has it added anything to your life? Do you want to see milk banking spread in the country as much as I do? Do you have a PayPal account? Then take a moment to send a small donation. Even if it's only $5 or only $1. This blog had 6000 unique visitors in the month of December. Imagine if each of them had taken the time to donate a single dollar.

Ok, I'm starting to sound like a PBS fundraiser now. ;) That probably means I should wrap this up and go do some pumping.

I edited my post about the extended date to say that it's been extended through January. Good luck with the news article - that's great!

P.S. I just placed an order with my Christmas money too! Can't wait for my shirt to arrive (the other white milk) - love it LOL.

    Ohh...sweet! Thanks for shopping. :)

I plan on ordering myself a "Too Lazy To Bottlefeed" shirt here before too long, just haven't gotten around to it yet. (and I want to wait until after the fundraiser, since when I order something, it just pays for it out of the site profits.)

I know this is old news but just wanted to say 1) good for you for extending this! and 2) I just bought something for the whole family - a t-shirt for me ("Milk On Tap"), a t-shirt for hubby ("nip/suck"), and a onesie for the Bean ("Eat At Moms").

Thanks so much for being such an avid lactivist and supporting milk banks! You are a great inspiration for the rest of us. :-)

    thank you Melissa!

I really want to see us hit the $1000 mark with this fundraiser and we were only about halfway there from December. Things are moving about average this month, so there's a chance that we'll get there.
