Baby wearers will get a laugh out of this fiasco...

Ok, so here's the video of me trying to put him in...

Now, here's a photo of what he looks like when I try to put him in the way the directions say...

Ok, now if I slide his head out a bit...to this point...

I can stick a blanket behind his head and back...

He looks like this from a distance...

Same thing from the side...

At which point, he seems to be happy...so maybe with the blanket is the key? I dunno, he looks more like he's sitting up now, but again, he seems to be content...I'm sitting here on the couch right now with him in it like this:

Jenn -- good luck with the hotsling. I could never make it work.

We switched to a maya ring sling and found it much easier to adjust. And it was a lot easier on my back.

Cute pics! You both look great.

Too funny. It took me a while to figure out that they're SUPPOSED to looked a bit smooshed in there... I had some Dutch sling that looked sporty and somewhat corporate... Didn't use it as much as I'd have liked due to smooshing anxiety.

I've carried three of my four children in slings. With each of them I have to learn to carry them again and again. Practice is the key :)

I have No-Jo sling and Ellaroo wrap.

You are RIGHT. the blanket is KEY! check out this article (pg3): http://www.thebabywearer.com/articles/HowTo/Positioning.pdf

it shows useing a small towel, but I always used a reciving blanket.

Also NINO is a great group for people who need some in-person help with their baby carrier (I know I did) www.nineinnineout.org
