I'm here...honest, and coming back full force very soon.

Sorry I've been away for a bit, as someone who actually lectures on blogging, I know how terrible it is to vanish for two weeks. So, here's my explanation.

1.) I'm pregnant. First off, YAY!, second off...exhaustion, nausea, general yuckiness. First trimester over soon, so I'll be able to think straight again. ;)

2.) Been traveling. Spent last week in NYC doing some speaking at a show on search marketing. Not much of an Internet connection while there. :(

3.) Elnora is sick. First time she's ever been sick and she did it up right. Vomiting, diareah, the works. It got bad enough that we had to take her to the hospital on Saturday for IV fluids. :( She's getting better, but it's taken a toll on all of us.

I do promise to be back full force by the end of the week though, but this is where I have to poll my readers.

Since I'm pregnant now and will be planning a home birth, shall I expand the Lactivist to cover both breastfeeding AND home birthing issues, or shall I just stick with boobies? :)

    Great news!!!

If you have the energy, I say expand away. I know your Columbus readers for one will be very interested as we have such an old school obstetrics community, it would be great to get the straight talk on birthing issues.

I am so excited for you.

    Thanks Kelly!

It's been interesting so far...what with trying to find a homebirth midwife and all, so there will certainly be plenty to post about.

HOTDOG!! Good for you. We're trying again too, but I think I'm old enough it's not gonna work again. :(

Anyway, I say go for it! I'd love to read more on that. I know that there are a few states even that won't allow a home birth. Of course, that was ten years ago when I checked it out with my first. I've already found a midwife for where we are right now if we are lucky enough to get preggers, but . . .

I wish more mothers felt that they could homebirth. I think women in general feel that they NEED the hospital and epidurals and all. Don't get me wrong, I have no problems with any of that if a woman chooses it, it's the docs who push it making women feel like thay can't go it without all that.

    Expand away... :-)

    Jennifer, congratulations!!!

Sorry to hear Elnora was sick. I hope she's feeling all better.

I'd be interested to read about home birthing as well as boobies :)

Congratulations Jennifer. I hope Elnora is feeling better, and that you will be feeling better soon as well.

Expand away. I'm past my both BF and planned birthing (I hope anyway), but it's all related so expand if you want. Isn't that the greatest thing about blogging? It's all yours!
